Almost 200 members find United Methodist Women at
this church a place to be herself, a place to be a part of something
important. We invite you to come by one of our activities to
experience this for yourself. There is no obligation to join.
What United Methodist Women is about:
-
To be in mission with others
– locally, nationally, globally
-
Learning at our monthly educational meetings with a speaker
(Gatherings on the third Tuesday at either 1:00 pm or 7:30 pm)
-
Fun and Fellowship at monthly meetings in
smaller groups (circles). Some circles meet during the day;
some in the evening. All have free child care available.
For 2008:
-
Spring rummage sale (April 11-12) and Fall craft show (November 8)
-
Study subjects: Globalization, Israel/Palestine, Music and Mission,
I Believe in Jesus, Giving Our Hearts Away: Native American Survival
-
Each circle sets its own agenda of study,
mission projects, and fellowship
The Official Purpose:
The
organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women
whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons
through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to
expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries
of the church. For more information regarding circle
times and locations, please contact Judy Standefer, President, at
847/259-7788 or the church office at 847/255-5112. |
