At 9:00 am, children in the 1st through 6th grade, and at 11:00 am, children in pre-kindergarten through 6th grade, begin the hour in worship in the Sanctuary.  Children are directed to their classrooms following the Children's Message.

Our Nursery Nanny provides loving care for the youngest members of our Church family every Sunday from 9:00 until noon.  Pagers are available should we need to summon a parent or caregiver during the morning.  Please consult our First Step brochure for additional information and guidelines.

Two-Year Olds through Kindergarten -

LIVE B.I.G.

While our two, three, four, and give year olds may be small in size, they can
Live B.I.G. (hear, see and live your Belief In God) and get a B.I.G. start on a lifetime of faith through our Sunday morning pre-school and Kindergarten programs.  New this year, Live B.I.G. includes videos, stories and activities that help all children create solid faith connections.

"FESTIVAL!:  Adventures in Faith"

Based on multiple intelligence models of education, FESTIVAL helps children experience experience timeless stories of faith in 21st century style.  Using computers, audiovisual technology, art, drama, cooking and more, unit themes are vibrantly presented to all involved in FESTIVAL.

 


 

Festival opens for the fall on September 9, 2007.  All aboard! for This train is Bound for Glory: Values of Christian Living.”

From the engine to the caboose, each week children will explore a different car on the train.  Each venue focuses on a favorite Bible verse.  Children will learn the verse and learn how to apply it to their lives, understanding how Christian living sustains them through the journey of life and keeps them on the right track.

Parents: what a wonderful opportunity to expand the “Bible within” by memorizing these verses as a family.  The remote control car course is just one of the intriguing workshops in this session.  Don't miss this rail adventure.

Sunday SING - Children now have a chance to make music together on Sunday mornings.  Between the worship services (10:10 am - 10:50 am), children from Kindergarten through 6th Grade will gather to ring chimes, toll bells, create global sounds with percussion, and sing, SING, SING!

•  Godly Play (Pre-Kindergarten - Sixth Grade)

Our multi-age Christian Education class meets in Room 25 located on the Lower Level.  In stories and activities, children will encounter Jesus Christ, who came into our world to help us recognize God's saving and reconciling love.  During Lent and Eastertide, we remember and celebrate God's love, made know in Jesus' supreme act of love and sacrifice.

New this fall, our Godly Play class is based on the insights of Jerome Berryman, Sofia Cavaletti and Maria Montessori, Godly Play honors children and their spiritual gifts, at whatever age and stage they are.  Each class session includes a Bible story and response activities.  This multi-age option is for all children in pre-K through 6th grade, providing a perfect wondering environment for spiritual growth.

  • J.A.M.     ("Jesus And Me")
    Jesus and Me is our Wednesday early evening program for Kindergarten through 8th graders.  Our goal is to promote the children's spiritual growth through Bible study, worship leadership, dinner fellowship and recreation.  Children may participate in one, two or all three J.A.M. segments – and the whole family is invited to our optional dinner fellowship!

    This year’s theme verse is Micah 6:8 “He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”

    Segment 1 – 5:00-5:45  (choose one activity)

    Grace Note Singers (choir for Kindergarten - 3rd graders)

    No Strings Attached Puppet and Storytelling Troupe (Grades 4-8)

    Jesus Ringers Handbell Choir (Grades 4-8)

    Lego Lab – Building Bible Stories (Kindergarten - 8th Grade)

    Segment 2 – 5:45-6:15  Dinner Fellowship

    No cost for children enrolled in J.A.M. -

    $3.00 for all other family members and guests

     

    Segment 3 – 6:15-7:00 pm  (choose one activity)

    Saint and Singers Choir (Grades 4 - 8)

    Church Mouse Computer Club (Kindergarten - 8th Grade)

     – Open computer time with some additional structured games and recreation.

Please pre-register your child for the sessions and activities you choose.  You need only register once for the entire year, unless you change your original selections.

  • Crossroads:  Fifth and Sixth Grade Fellowship

No longer a little child and not quite a full-fledged teen, fifth and sixth graders can sometimes feel as if they don’t quite belong.  Introducing Crossroads, a fellowship group designed especially for this pre-teen age group, a place where everyone belongs.  Crossroads sponsors regular activities for fifth and sixth graders and their families.  Check your calendars and then check out Crossroads!

September 21 – Game Night and Make-Your-Own Sundaes

7:00-8:30 pm; families invited to join us at 8:00 pm for some planning and calendaring of future events.

Bring your favorite table game, a friend and $1.00 per person for refreshments

  • Milestones of Faith

Developing spiritual habits that shape children's lives is the goal of our Milestones program.  Each milestone recognizes accomplishments in a child's spiritual development and includes an opportunity to celebrate that accomplishment with the church family or at home.  Milestones are celebrated throughout the year.

  • Vacation Bible School

An exciting, interactive program for ages 3 through those who have completed the 6th grade, our Vacation Bible School ("VBS") is usually held in early July for one week.  Children have opportunities to experience the VBS theme through storytelling, crafts, games, music, mission projects and much more!

  • Summer Sunday School

Christian Education never takes a vacation, but we do change the pace!  Our experience leads children to experience God's love in new ways.  Sunday School, Summer through Labor Day, meets 9:00-10:00 a.m. every Sunday.
